Private vs shared airport transfers: which should you offer your clients?
Published October 27, 2026
Private transfers are best for families, groups, business travellers and late arrivals, while shared transfers are best for solo travellers and budget trips. The decision usually comes down to comfort, timing and cost.
A private transfer gives the client a vehicle for their own party, a direct route and usually a driver waiting at arrivals. It is the better choice when there is luggage, young children, elderly travellers or a tight schedule. The price is shared by everyone in the vehicle, so for groups it can cost little more per person.
A shared transfer carries passengers from several bookings and may make more than one stop. It costs less per person but takes longer and runs to a less flexible schedule. It suits solo travellers and short budget trips where time is not critical.
Whichever option you sell, collect the flight number, arrival time, number of passengers, luggage and the exact hotel name and address. Flight details let the driver track delays, which avoids missed pickups.
Adding a transfer to every hotel booking is one of the easiest ways to raise the value of a sale, and it improves the client experience from the moment they land.
